Dauphin Minor Hockey Wraps up 2019-2020 Season
The Directors wrapped up the season last night, holding the Annual General Meeting which closes the 2019-2020 hockey season.
Overall, the Season was a success, there was 173 players registered; each season gets smoother and smoother; we continue to implement efficiencies that help with the coordination of the program.
2020-2021 Registration Forecast:
U7: Avg 25-30 (last year 41)
As of right now - Hockey Manitoba is currently working with Hockey Canada, Sport Manitoba and Provincial Sport Organizations in Manitoba to develop a Return to Hockey Plan. The plan will include safety guidelines and requirements, along with a phased-in approach for returning to play.
What this means come September is still unknown, all we have been told from Hockey Manitoba is to plan the season as we would normally. Today, there are some rinks in the province that are open to unsanctioned hockey, so we are hopeful we will be able to do the same come August.
We would like to remind that all issues that are directly or indirectly presented to the board; the directors do not make decisions lightly. We all do our due diligence and do our best to make decisions for the betterment of DMH, not for personal gain or spite.
Lastly, although we are a group of 9 directors that manage the Dauphin Minor Hockey Association, it’s really you; our membership that helps govern the program. If you have an idea or a suggestion within reason, we encourage you to reach out to us. We believe we make the best decisions given our circumstances, but it never hurts to get more ideas that could enhance the Minor Hockey Season experience.
SAVE THE DATE: Kings Summer Hockey Camp August 24-28 & Dauphin Minor Hockey Development Series starting September 7 - tentative
Have a terrific summer and we will stay in touch.
